Carchíris
Carchíris works with performance, installation, spatial intervention, and objects that weave together affective memories and ecological concerns. Her practice is guided by an attention to the textures of everyday life that often go unnoticed: small traces, vegetation, what people leave behind, and what grows out of sight. Drawing on the sensibilities of São Luís and its ecosystems, she develops a language of her own, casting mangroves, forests, and orchards as altars of care and survival. Her work moves through intimate gestures: poems, dedications to absent fatherhoods, and landscapes made alongside her grandmother. Her practice investigates how love, abandonment, and belonging operate as forces in constant transformation.

She was selected for the Rumos Itaú Cultural 2023–2024 program and received the 2024 FOCO Prize. She presented the solo exhibition "Deus abençoe o nosso amor" at Lima Galeria (São Luís, 2024), and has also developed projects at Chão SLZ (São Luís, 2023), Solar dos Abacaxis (Rio de Janeiro, 2023), and Sertão Negro – Ateliê e Escola de Artes (Goiânia, 2025).
