Founded in 2021 by Marco Antônio Lima in São Luís, Lima Galeria is dedicated to supporting and exhibiting the work of contemporary artists from Maranhão, Piauí, and Pará. At the core of its activities are a multiplicity of voices and an interest in conceptual and process-based practices that give form to subjective expressions while remaining deeply connected to social and political issues. Its program is thus shaped by sensitive currents moving between the critical revision of history, ecological thought, and spirituality, revealing singular imaginaries forged through the material and symbolic density of Brazil’s North and Northeast.
